Endorsement Announcement

II'm excited to announce that I have received an endorsement from the Florida Planned Parenthood PAC for my dedication to women's rights.  I will never waiver when it comes to standing up for women's rights.  Below is the letter I received from the organization.

Dear Tammy,

Congratulations! We are thrilled to announce that you have received the endorsement of the Florida Planned Parenthood PAC (FLPPPAC). You have been a strong supporter of reproductive health and we know you will continue to be a dedicated advocate.

The Florida Planned Parenthood PAC is the political arm of Planned Parenthood organizations in Florida and is a separate and segregated political action committee, which supports state candidates who are pro-family planning and support access to safe and legal abortion.

As a leading advocate for Planned Parenthood health centers, the Florida Planned Parenthood PAC is a trusted messenger for reproductive health.

For more than a century, Planned Parenthood health centers have provided preventive health care to millions of women, men and young people, earning the nation’s confidence and trust.

  • One in five American women has visited a Planned Parenthood affiliate health center in her lifetime.

  • Fifty-six percent (56%) of Planned Parenthood health centers are in health professional shortage areas, rural or medically underserved areas, providing primary and preventive health care to many who otherwise would have nowhere to turn for family planning care.

  •  In Florida, Planned Parenthood has over 600,000 supporters who care about reproductive health issues.

On behalf of the Florida Planned Parenthood PAC, we wish you the best of luck in the coming election.

We've had quite a few endorsements come rolling through lately!  Here's a list of the current endorsements...

  • Former Florida CFO Alex Sink

  • Congresswoman Kathy Castor

  • Representative Sean Shaw

  • Working Families Party

  • VoteProChoice

  • Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate

  • Florida Democratic LGBTA Caucus

  • Democratic Women's Club of Florida

  • Florida NOW

  • Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida- Pasco Chapter

  • Run For Something

Each and every one of these endorsements is special to me.  It means that these are people and organizations that believe in what this campaign is about and what we are trying to achieve. I am proud to be a progressive, pro-choice, millennial woman that will fight for common sense gun reform, environmental protections, LGBT rights, and women's rights.

Working Families Party Endorses Tammy Garcia for Florida House of Representatives, District 37.

The WFP is a national progressive organization to mobilize members for candidates who will fight for all working families

The Working Families Party will mobilize its grassroots supporter base to volunteer for CANDIDATE in advance of the election. The Working Families Party endorsement is a “seal of approval” for progressive voters.

"I am proud to have the endorsement of the WFP.  For too long, our legislators have forgotten about the working class that they are supposed to be representing.  We need to fight to make legislation that protects ALL of our citizens and gives everyone a voice instead of just the 1%.  I will fight to ensure that no one will have to work over 40 hours a week just to pay their bills."

The Working Families Party is a national political organization that is recruiting, training, and electing the next generation of progressive leaders to office. A Letter to Richard Corcoran

In the wake of the Parkland School Shooting, Richard Corcoran (speaker of the Florida House and current District 37 representative) called for the resignation of Sheriff Israel due to his inaction.  I wrote a letter to Mr. Corcoran asking for him to resign for his inaction since the Pulse shooting.  Creative Loafing Tampa Bay published an article about it.  Read the article, with my letter, at the link below.
